On Sale at Old Navy

First off I completely disagree with the article "On sale at Old Navy: Cool clothes for identical zombies!" by Damien Cave. The whole article is about bashing Old Navy and Ikea by saying the stores are creating a fake culture. It is pretty much saying that consumerism is a bad thing and that these two store are corrupting out lives with cheap stuff. But the fact is, in this economy we need more stores like this. There are many people in this world out of jobs and can't afford normal name brand clothing. Old Navy may be growing but the more it grows the more jobs we have. When I go to the store, I like it when they put certain things together such as outfits or furniture set up. It's not that I won't have my own ideas about I want to do with certain clothing, it just gives me another option. When I go to friends house I see really nice set ups and I have yet to see a house taken over by one store. I don't go shopping all the time but I do know that having shopping trips with friends don't keep me from conversation but it actually helps. Going to the store can be a great bonding time with friends and family. Stores are meant to make things easy for us, and these two stores does this for the customers satisfaction. I have had Knock of brands that last longer than name brand stuff. The thing is we are more likely not worried as much to get a twenty dollar shirt dirty than getting a fifty dollar shirt dirty. Even though the selection does have as big of a variety, people can still make each thing there own. Some people might wear clothes exactly how it was in the store, but most people change it up to fit their own style. When I go to a store with name brand stuff I begin to worry about spending two much on one item because I could use the money some where else. So going to a cheaper store allows me to get something I like for a cheaper price with less worry. Even if it is a Knock off, it still looks nice and satisfies my needs
